Capacity Building:

Investing in the human resources is the best investment and capacity building of different segments of the society can give very good results as there is tremendous potential to be exploited. SDS gives due importance to the capacity building of its own staff, community, government departments, local government representative, Community Based Organizations, (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in different sectors of work.

Disaster Management:

After the devastating earthquake of October 2005 DRR and CBDRM is being given the due importance. SDS has been actively involved in relief and response activities and has carried out a number of interventions under DRR and CBDRM.

Education Promotion:

No society can progress unless due importance is given to education, especially female education. There is a need to work collectively to increase enrolment and attendance in the schools and decrease drop out ratio

Advocacy, Lobbying & Campaigning:

Due to low literacy ratio and awareness level it is necessary to play an effective role in opinion building, attitudinal change, awareness raising and policy shift. Having strong roots in the community advocacy and lobbying has been an effective tool of SDS.

Sana Khan Amin

Sana Khan belongs from Hunza, Gilgit-Baldistan Pakistan. Qualified from Karakorum International University Pakistan. Did his Master in Project Management from PMP SZABIST, Pakistan. Couple of years ago he did his Project Management Professional diploma from, PMI USA. He is very humble and polite person with extra-ordinary professional capabilities almost 16 years of experience in development sector. He started his professional carrier from Jan’ 99 with FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance Pakistan. During his professional time he worked with many national and international organizations in different capacities such as Agha Khan Education services, Oxfam-Novib, World Bank, McRam UNOCHA, UNICEF, in Pakistan and currently working in Iraq in UNHCR program. He also conducted many consultancies with for UN-agencies, national and international organization during his professional carrier such as Impact assessment study of UNHCR Shelter Program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Study on Impact of Disasters for UN-Habitat Pakistan, develop strategic plan from Saiban NGO, evaluation of World Vision Program “flood response program in Sindh” & evaluation of CBLRG project of UNDP in Kohsitan district Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Besides, he also facilitated monitoring and evaluation workshop in Istanbul-Turkey and workshop on “Participation of beneficiaries and stakeholders for HAP-1. As a researcher he carried out many evaluations and wrote research papers in his professional carrier. He prepare an operational manual for emergency recovery project for cash transfer, and conditional cash transfer for international humanitarian organization. He also writes report on P to Study visibility and prospects of 123 schools. Carried out research on “Teacher & Students experience of examination system in AKES schools.
